What's happening this month?
It has been a busy January month here at Jenn Cameron Interiors! With each newsletter, I will share project updates, design tips and "fun finds" to update your home with a quick change. Designing people's home has been a wonderful and creative distraction from the realities of life during Covid times. I truly love spending time with clients, learning about their family design needs, and how to best utilize their space. I find this job to be rewarding, creative, fun and fulfilling.

Heights Avenue
The "Heights Avenue" project began with a call from the client who wanted to find a way to update her family heirloom credenza. As soon as I saw it, I felt strongly that we should preserve the integrity and beauty of the traditional piece. So, instead of painting it, as the client suggested, I proposed to keep the credenza, but design around it; incorporating some less traditional designs. To do this, we added a gorgeous wallpaper and a chair rail, a natural, casual textured rug, a beautiful white chandelier and glass sconces from my favorite lighting designer, Julie Neill (who happens to be based out of New Orleans). We also chose a velvet settee and custom lumbar pillow to complete the space. I look forward to them enjoying many wonderful family gatherings in their new space.

Ringleaf
The "Ringleaf" clients reached out to me in search of a new furniture layout and designs. Their previous room had dark furniture that was a bit oversized for the space. To brighten the space, we designed custom “performance fabric” furniture that lightened the feel and vibe, painted the fireplace, and introduced a lovely textured custom-leather ottoman. Finally, my favorite step, adding the décor! That’s when, the room truly comes to life! Sourcing local décor pieces but, also using some of the clients’ personal treasures allowed the space to shine to its fullest.

Blackberry Road
The “Blackberry Road” powder room was updated to meet the family’s more contemporary style. The powder room received wallpaper, new lighting and mirror, and for fun, a current design trend I’m loving… we painted the ceiling and trim in a high gloss, soft purple. Such a fun space!

Design Tips
Add Greenery! I cannot emphasize this enough. And, while I love live plants… if you don’t have a green thumb like me, faux greenery adds warmth and can really add so much life to a space.

Fun Finds
I am always on the search for decorative boxes. These can be used on bookshelves, layered on coffee tables and more. Here are some that I love for their texture, scale and style.
